QUALIFICATIONS AND CORE PRINCIPLES FOR CERTIFICATION
Certified Post-Procedure Recovery Specialist
In order to be designated as a Certified Post-Procedure Recovery Specialist by the Post-Procedure Research Institute, Inc. (“PPRI”), each applicant should meet and continuously maintain the following criteria, as determined and verified by PPRI in its sole and reasonable discretion:
- Study and Examination
The applicant must undergo a rigorous course of study (e.g., an extensive fifteen module curriculum) sponsored by PPRI and must obtain a passing grade on a final examination demonstrating a working proficiency in all of the significant principles of post-procedure recovery.
- Continuing Education
The applicant must meet a yearly continuing education requirement as prescribed by PPRI.
- Professional Standing and Licensure
The applicant must hold a valid license and designation, without restriction, in a recognized healthcare field, such as Surgical Technician, Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, etc., and must be in the employ of a physician/specialist or practice that is certified and in good standing with PPRI.
- Adherence to PPRI Protocols and Standards
The applicant must agree to adhere to all applicable PPRI guidelines, protocols, ethical standards, and best practices relating to post-procedure recovery, patient safety, and clinical integrity.
5. Ethical and Professional Conduct
The applicant must, at all times, maintain the highest standards of ethical and professional conduct, including compliance with all applicable laws and regulations relating to patient care.
NOTE: Physical certificates are issued exclusively by PPRI.
EXAMPLE OF CERTIFICATE TEXT:
“This individual is fully certified as a Post-Procedure Recovery Specialist and is in good standing with the Post-Procedure Research Institute (“PPRI”). The PPRI designation indicates that this individual has successfully completed a rigorous course of training in the science of post-procedure recovery sponsored by the Institute.
This individual is an expert in those significant post-procedural practices that both support and accelerate healing and optimize patient results.”
